This week we are asked to look at Creative Commons, which is something I have been aware of and make use of in my work all the time (searching for images mainly for publications). So I thought I’d use the search term ‘learning technologies’ can it came up with this photo (which has , Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use.
I also found this sound clip, via Jamendo.com which has , You can re-use and re-share the work so long as it is not for any commercial purposes. This can be tricky to navigate as the definition of what is commercial use/purposes can be much wider than many first anticipate. For example, not all educational uses are necessarily Non-Commercial uses, an NC license may prevent the use of the work in some educational contexts.)
I think many people just take images, audio, video off the web and especially for non commerical use, which is the sector I’m in. We need to educate students more on this, on any degree programme.
